This weekend I said a final farewell to Pick Me Up London. Here's my small selection of my favourites.
1) Cat Island by Jessica Das: each piece was cat themed and full of cat-filled goodness. Cats!!
2) This Frida portrait by Lou Taylor is made from finely delicate paper cut pieces, it's a wonderful homage to the Mexican painter.
3) Neon/fluro colours have been my new favourite thing ever since I invested in fluorescent gaffa tape. Which I think is why I love Annu Kilpelainen's use of neon colours, I'm always envious of any illustrator/design who can use such a luscious colour palette well.
4) Beautiful lettering by Jordan Metclaf, I love the way the strokes on the letterforms fade with that gradient, it's almost like the words are submerged in the page.
5) Paper stock is half the design and this is personified in the Jessica Das's funky fluorescent piece.

Make Your Own Luck Show
Last week or so I checked out Kate's Moross's Solo Show with Sherida (who is fellow designer and amazing blogger). It was an amazing show, the body of work is so inspiring especially when you consider it come from a young designer. It was great to see pieces I've seen around online, in print etc but also to see the originals.
One of the things I love about Moross's is her use of colour, it's so vibrant, bright and clashing: but it works. There's so much life in the colour palettes and getting such an array to work together takes a real knack.

Hello, My Name is Paul Smith
I visited the Design's Museum's 'Hello, My Name is Paul Smith' exhibition on Wednesday and it's definitely one of my top favourites (closely followed by their Christian Louboutin exhibition last year). Apart from the beautiful fluro pink colour palette, the button wall was my favourite; I most definitely want one.

Lazy Oaf Sample Sale
I managed to pick up a few gems from the Lazy Oaf Sample Sale last week. The jazzy geometric shirt is definitely my favourite; will be pairing that up with a bow tie.

Get More Answers
Yesterday myself and fellow graphic designer and blogger extraordinaire Natasha Nuttall visited the KK Outlet for an Anthony Burrill Screen Printing workshop with People of Print. We both received signed prints and cheesy photos.
